By using http://www.badgers-in-foil.co.uk/projects/docbook-css/ it's possible to view DocBook XML. Not particularly pretty, but beats looking at the raw XML. There seem to be other CSS stylesheets for DocBook as well. http://wiki.docbook.org/topic/DocBookCssStylesheets
