That is not quite true for Borland. It was about average in its conformance in the past; the problem is that all other compilers have significantly increased their conformance, whereas Borland has basically stood still. Nevertheless, I still try to not break things under Borland, but that's kind of hard because we don't even have a Borland tester. (And there isn't - to my knowledge - a free version.)
