Sure that works. My advice though would be to provide defaults with value semantics just for QoL reasons for the users. I don't know how expensive the costs of a copy would be.. but I'm guessing it's not huge. You can always have a ref_segment too, and in memory tight situations the users with that need will be treated as well. Brandon
