A large number of these regressions are msvc-6.5 errors. I don't know of anything that I have written in the last 3 or 4 years that would compile on that platform. I still maintain a msvc-7.1 compiler because I have a legacy application that I am maintaining, which doesn't use Boost. I really wonder if it is reasonable to expect Boost to compile on msvc-6.5? In any event, perhaps that is something that should be considered.
We consider this every once in a while, and some libraries have been dropping support for these older compilers, but with so many msvc-6.5 users still out there... isn't hard to just say, "too bad." I expect we'll phase out these compilers over time, but it will take yet more time. Cheers, Doug
