Boost.Pool has no maintainer and I have no idea how to push through the fixes I made for open tickets (or get them amended or even rejected if they are bad).

I think Boost doesn't have that situation covered. If the 'current' maintainer can't be contacted you could volunteer to take over maintenance. -- Olaf
