This is really a question belonging to boost-users ... Yes there is, but Boost.Test's implementation uses SIGALRM which doesn't work on Windows and is unreliable on Linux. You may find what AFIO did instead useful: https://github.com/BoostGSoC13/boost.afio/blob/master/libs/afio/test/t est_functions.hpp#L182. Basically he fires off a watchdog thread who aborts the process after a certain period. This works very well on all platforms.
