I don't know if this helps, but the kde project is currently changing to subversion. They have been running a test Repository for about half a year now, and will probably change their main repository this month. I don't know exactly who has been coordinating these efforts, but I think it was Stephan Kulow <coolo () kde ! org>, and the whole issue was probably discussed at the kde-core-devel list.
Perhaps they can share some tips.
