Hello Boost community, I need some help for preparing effectively for Gsoc 17 with Boost community. I have been through the boost gsoc webpage and for getting selected in Gsoc an aspirant need to provide competency Test. I want to know that apart from competency test what other projects would be helpful in making my proposal strong. Should I be writting more programs using boost library ? , should I be aware of all boost libraries ?. I want your suggestions as I'm very serious regarding the matter. thanks!! and sorry if the question is quite nooby.

How to build Boost with VS15

Hi, How does one build Boost (1.62) with VS15 (Preview 4)? I know it's not officially supported.. C:\VC\boost>bootstrap.bat Building Boost.Build engine 'cl' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Failed to build Boost.Build engine. Please consult bootstrap.log for further diagnostics. -- Olaf

Review Request: Synapse

I'm requesting a formal review for the Synapse library. Edward Diener has kindly offered to serve as the review manager for Synapse. Synapse is a signal programming library, similar to Boost Signals2 and the signals-slots system in Qt. The main difference is that Synapse is non-intrusive: the address of any object of any static type whatsoever can be passed to synapse::emit to emit a signal. This makes it possible to emit Synapse signals from objects of third-party types as well as system objects (e.g. standard FILE pointers, HWNDs, etc.) or any other object that can be converted to a pointer. The library has been formatted to fit the Boost directory and namespace structure. CMake Modularization

CMake is a widely used build system and has become for many the de facto standard. Boost is a widely used collection of modules and has become for many part of the de facto standard. However, the two do not play very well together. I know there is another port of boost to CMake, but it has lain dormant for years and uses an old version of boost; plus I chose to take a different route. The old project attempted to completely replace Boost.Build with CMake. My example port simply allows people to more easily use boost modules in their projects. I created an example project https://github.com/Elzair/cmake-boost-filesystem-test to demonstrate my ideas. I added CMake build support to the minimum number of modules needed to support this demo: https://github.com/Elzair/assert https://github.com/Elzair/config https://github.com/Elzair/core https://github.com/Elzair/filesystem/tree/master and https://github.com/Elzair/system I even added CMake build support to the header only boost libraries. I did this for two reasons. First, I did not want users to have to fool with CMake's find_package(). Second, I wanted to add helpful error messages in case a user has not included all of a module's dependencies (or added them in the wrong order). Would the community be interested in modular CMake support for more modules? Any comments, questions, critiques or suggestions are welcome.
