Hi to all, We've received 4 positive reviews and several comments, but we still want more ;-) Some people expressed interested in the pre-review period and I want to give some time (weekend is the right time to review a Boost library...) to those who are interested in the library and have not found time to review it. The last review day is February 3. Common, the library is very lightweight ;-) to review, it's pretty well documented, it's certainly small and very general purpose. Here is the information. Last call to passengers! *Description:* Flyweights are small-sized handle classes granting constant access to shared common data, thus allowing for the management of large amounts of entities within reasonable memory limits. [xpressive] how to avoid running into stack overflow so easily

Hi Eric, (Apologies in advance for such a stupid question.) I'm building a fairly simple parser using xpressive. Martin, Where you and I live, the nearest we get is exceptions for "research or private study" and "criticism or review", which I don't think apply in this case. [1.35.0] Release branch snapshots

The first attempt at a release branch snapshot is now available. See http://beta.boost.org/development/testing.html#Snapshots for more information, and a link to the actual files. Thanks to Martin Wille for setting up the hosting! The plan is to automatically build Unix and Windows snapshots on a daily basis. Right now the only snapshot available is a .zip with Windows line endings. For the moment the focus is simply getting the build process in place for both Unix and Windows. Once that is running more or less smoothly, the focus can shift to making sure the content is all there, and that other QA checks are being met. --Beman

stdcxx-tests on release branch?

Without wanting to be too pedantic (!), do we have a policy about which toolsets are tested on the release branch? I'm asking because we currently have a large number of failures for the "stdcxx" (Apache std lib) tests. Whilst we certainly should be testing this on the trunk going forward, it's not previously been a required release platform, hence the large number of failures. There are also one set of results (for msvc-8.0-stdcxx-4.2.1) that appear to failing almost everything and isn't even compiling the "hello world" config_info program: http://beta.boost.org/development/tests/release/developer/output/msvc-8-0-s… IMO this failure is made worse because the toolset used is simply called "msvc-8.0" so it shows up as a *required* platform, rather than a currently-unsupported one. Likewise the Sunpro and gcc tests with the apache std lib are simply called "gcc-4.2.1" and "sun". Apologies to the test runner for the gripe: we really do need you and appreciate the effort! It's just that we also need to be able to clearly focus on what is and is not required for *this next release*. Thanks, John.

[numeric/conversion] Quickbook changeover

Hi, The numeric/conversion library seems to be in the middle of having it's documentation converted to quickbook and currently has both versions in the trunk and release branches. So we need to delete one of them in the release branch (and preferably in trunk as well). Is the quickbook based documentation ready for release? Daniel

An inspection report will now be run on the daily release snapshot. See http://beta.boost.org/development/testing.html#Snapshots for the link. There are far too many errors. We need to start a major effort to clean these up. One of the most common errors are broken links caused by the removal of people pages from the boost tree. Perhaps someone could write a script to replace all of these with a link to the web site, where the people pages still exist. Any volunteers? Reminder to developers: you have to fix the problem in the trunk, and then merge the fixes into branches/release. --Beman
