Hmm - I would find it useful if defer_point::defer would return an
future which could be used to transfer results and/or exceptions back to
the caller.

he has no idee to fix it.

For my thesis work I wrote a DSL framework based on fusion-2. It fulfills a
similar purpose like boost::xpressive's proto. Compared to proto, the framework
has a rule system, allowing the user define the language rules of a domain.
Is there any interest in a library like that?
Some additional information:
All operators defined by the framework verify the correctness of expressions
querying the domain rules the expression parameters belong to, using EnableIf.
Foreign types can be integrated into a domain by specifing adaptation rules.
The framework separates operators (or DSL functions) from language rules.
Consequently rules may
introduces this layer of indirection to achieve a consistent
definition of language rules.
Expressions have a varying set of attributes stored in a fusion-2 map, e.g.
the expressions domain is identified by an attribute inside that map. The
set of attributes is controlled by the domain rules. Apart from returning the
validity of expressions, rules also have to provide a result type. Hence the
rule code tends to grow complex, with an increasing amount of attributes.
The library lacks a proper documentation, and requires some interface changes
to simplify attribute update operations. Before working on that, I wanted to see
if there is interest at all.
I used the framework to implement a matrix library with a signle frontend and
multiple backends, that could be picked and combined on a by expression basis.

This overwrites pair<short, double>. It ought to be
m_item<*3*, int, char, m_mask<int, my_map> >
Also, when insert is passed a key that is already present the old value
is still present in addition to the new value.

Hello,
Boost.Bimap, my SoC project is ready to confront the list.
The project is being mentored by Joaquín López Muñoz. I want
to publicly thank him.
With Boost.Bimap you can create associative containers where
both types can be used as key. You can think a bimap<X,Y> as
a merge of a std::map<X,Y> and a std::map<Y,X>. The learning
curve of bimap is almost zero if you know how to use standard
containers.
The original project that encompasses the creation of a one to
one bidirectional map has been extended into a framework that
extends the standard mapping scheme. A bimap is a very flexible
and powerful container, but the interface of the library allows
a user to use it out of the box.

I will be very pleased if you can make some spare time to review
the interface, design, implementation and documentation of this
library and comment on it.
Because it is better to go clean from the beginning, these are
some of the questions that will surely rise a discussion.
* Do you like the usage interface?
* In relation with Boost.MultiIndex, Do you think that it is
worth to have a bidirectional map library in Boost, that trades
generality for a better specialized user interface?
(Because this library was encouraged by the boost mentors the
answer will surely be yes, but it is a nice discussion to have)
* Do you like the extended mapping framework?
Do you think it is intuitive for someone with a stl background?
* What do you think of the design of operator[]?
Is there a better way to be coherent with the stl that does not imply
throwing exceptions?
* What is your evaluation of the implementation?
I am very interested in your reaction to the zero-overhead achieved
by the almost-standard mutant_relation class, and the standard
compliant label that this library acquires by including the
standard_relation class.
A big part of the library implementation is ContainerAdaptor.
Do you deem Boost.ContainerAdaptor worth eventually proposing to
Boost?

Sorry I wasn't as clear as I could be, I'm only using sockets for what I
would like to use named pipes for. I use regular win32 ReadFile in a
thread currently to receive output on stdout/err and was hoping that
this would fit nicely into the asio model too and let me remove this
code and the neccessary synchronisation..
