Help! Which compilers use _RWSTD_VER and __SGI_STL_PORT?

Hallo, I think I found a workaround for the pool problem with BCB2006, which broke several serialization tests. However in order to be sure not to break other compilers I need to know if the macros above, _RWSTD_VER and __SGI_STL_PORT, are Borland specific or no. Any idea? Thanks, Nicola Musatti

This functionality is available in most compilers even when RTTI is off, with g++ being the notable exception. In the spirit of being a notable exception, g++ also doesn't provide a predefined macro when -fno-rtti is used (or not used.) I can add BOOST_SP_DISABLE_GET_DELETER if this would help. If the review manager agrees that not having this macro is a bug in 1.33, it can even go into 1.34.

Hello, Google has just announced that there will be a Summer of Code program this year. More information can be found here: http://code.google.com/soc/ I'm posting this message in the hope that Boost joins as a mentoring organization. I think this was discussed the last year, but it was not on the final organizations list. The goal could be to develop one of the "missing" libraries (those described in the Wiki, for example) following the advice of people from this list. And possibly get a library that is ready for review and inclusion into Boost. I know it's a difficult process, but there are three full months to spend on the task. I was triggering the problem via '--help', which equated to 'cout << desc << endl;'. I've got a pretty vanilla VC++ Express 2005 installation, I haven't done anything out of the ordinary environment wise, which means all the new 'Standard C++ Library Security' features are enabled, so all the _SCL_SECURE_* macros are used. If you can't reproduce the assertion in VC8 with the option description I listed above, I'd suggest putting a breakpoint on the _SCL_SECURE_VALIDATE_RANGE() macro above. If it's not being hit (which is what I'd expect), then something in your environment is disabling the _SCL_SECURE* stuff.
