Hello, support I have some Boost.Preprocessor data structure, say a sequence: #define SEQ ("1")("2")("3") how can I convert it into initalizer {"1", "2", "3"}? E.g: #define MY_TEST(SEQ) char* var = { SOMEHOW_GET_LIST_OF_VALUES(SEQ) } I've tried to look at preprocessor docs, but it's rather hard to find the answer. TIA, Volodya

I'm getting a problem with serialization library build on IBM Visual Age compiler. It report that boost::iterator_difference<const char *> isn't complete. In perusing the code, it would seem to me that iterator_adaptor is including all it needs to resolve this and FWIW it works everywhere else. Can anyone give me a suggestion here? libs/iterator/doc/iterator_concepts.pdf not marked as binary

libs/iterator/doc/iterator_concepts.pdf is not marked as binary in the CVS. The result is that it apparently has been scrambled at commit time, as neither a Windows nor a Linux check out a readable PDF. In addition, Windows always shows it as locally modified; my cvs commit just committed a new revision of iterator_concepts, but I didn't touch the file. I can't fix it because I don't have the original PDF, and cvs can't check out a working version. -- Peter Dimov http://www.pdimov.com

method deduction (on vc?)

I am working on some generic code that could use a method deduction trick of some sort. One mentioned by J.Maddock (http://lists.boost.org/MailArchives/boost/msg52178.php) does not work on vc6 - is there anything in boost (MPL?) that can help? Thanks, Max. Compatibility between boost versions

My company is currently developing a new set of software packages (applications, static and dynamic libraries) that are all expected to work together (i.e., the libraries will be linked to more than one of the applications, and the libraries will interoperate and depend on one another). In addition, the system has to be extensible, i.e. new DLLs will be added in the future without requiring to rebuild the other components. I use many parts of the boost libraries, not only for the implementation details, but also in the interfaces of the libraries (e.g. the iterator adaptors, type_traits, call_traits, variant, mpl...). This leads to the question: are different versions of the boost libraries compatible with each other? Can I use a newer version of boost in future additions to our system and expect them to work together or will we have to rebuild the whole system when we decide to use a new version of boost? I don't expect a definite answer to this complex question, but is it possible to estimate how likely it is that newer versions of boost will require us to rebuild all? Best regards, Klaus

As to whether or not you want to include it in the branch, I would withhold judgment pending outcome of the first rounds of "official" test. The you can decide whether or not it should be included.
