RE: [Boost-Users] Re: Regex in a service..
Thanks to all for helping. As soon as I changed the account of the service, it worked which led me to believe it just wasn't finding the DLL, which in fact was the problem. All is working now. Thanks for all the great help and ideas! The service can start and I can attach and run through it, but if I uncomment it (which is what I need to do), essentially it IMMEDIATELY fails with a ERROR 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. Is it possible that its not finding the proper libraries or a permissions problem is happening?
Windows services have to respond to the Windows Service Control Manager (SCM) within a certain amount of time (a few seconds as I recall) or the SCM will assume the start has failed. How long is your Regex taking? Perhaps you should put the Regex in another thread so that your SCM responses are timely.... HTH, Jeff Yahoo!
