It's slightly dated now with all the changes which have gone in, and new subsystems; but it does seem to be a good desk-side reference. You'll probably want to download the Boost PDF documentation, and use it with the book. I had problems building it on FreeBSD. cheers, BMS

Yes, an excellent book, which sadly only covers a few of the Boost libraries. As stated, not quite up to date now, but still very useful. The author is sometimes on this list btw. - Rob.

Thank you. I will purchase a copy with my next paycheck.
I liked the book as well. Even though I was mainly interested in asio, which is not covered in this book, having this book still helped, since asio uses other libraries... Where can we download the pdf documentation? Go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/boost/files/ and select the boost-docs item. HTH, John.
An excellent german online boost book: http://www.highscore.de/cpp/boost/ The author has some articles translated, but not all afaik. Still the source says it all, and google probably will translate well too. regards, Jens Weller -- Neu: GMX Doppel-FLAT mit Internet-Flatrate + Telefon-Flatrate für nur 19,99 Euro/mtl.!* http://portal.gmx.net/de/go/dsl02
