Re: [Boost-users] [boost] [Announce] Boost Installer for Visual C++ 7.1/8.0

Boost Consulting is pleased to announce the availability of a Windows installer for the current Boost release (1.33.1). See:
Any plans to make the .nsi file you're using public? There may be a few of us out there that have experience with Nullsoft and could contribute to the installer in some way, shape or form. Trent.

It would be nice to be able to specify a "permanent" location to download the zip files to, and to specify that location as the source for the installer, so that one can download once from SF to a local file server and then deploy to several development machines from there. See for comparison the Cygwin installer that does this.

Hi Trent, After discussing this from about 40 different angles, we did decide to open source the .nsi file in some form or other. We'll let you know when we've worked out the details. -- Dave Abrahams Boost Consulting www.boost-consulting.com

Hi Dave, I wanted to check on the status of the Nullsoft installer file. I looked around on the boost-consulting site for the .nsi file, but didn't find it. Have you released the .nsi file yet? Thank you, David
