Hi list, I'm new to Boost.asio and am solving scaling problems of a Openflow (TCP based) server. We are using one single io_service for packets receiving and transmitting. A thread pool calling io_service::run() processes HTTP requests. A multi-core server is used. I found we can't get benefits from increasing the size of thread pool when it's size is larger than 6. In other words the system doesn't scale any more on more than 6 cores. I checked the program carefully and can make sure there's no lock contention.
