Does Boost support Windows 98?
Hello, I realize this is a rather ambiguous question, but I thought I'd start somewhere: Does Boost support Windows 98? If it's only partial support, what is missing? (I realize that there are many Boost libraries, and this answer might be a per-library question.) I see vague references in email lists to win98 support, but I'm hoping to find an official reference. I am managing a software development project based on MinGW/Boost, hoping to not have to support Win98, but I just realized that now we need to do so (support win98). Hence my question comes a bit after the fact. Thanks for any help, -Matt

At least to some extent it does.
If it's only partial support, what is missing?
We don't know for sure. The best way to find out is to run the regression tests on that platform. Just follow: http://www.boost.org/tools/regression/xsl_reports/runner/instructions.html If you allow the script to upload results they will be incorporated in the tables at http://www.meta-comm.com/engineering and there is a greater likelihood that some Boost developer will be able to find workarounds for any problems. -- Dave Abrahams Boost Consulting www.boost-consulting.com
