I have been considering using the name HigherOrderFunctions(or HOF for short), which seems better to describe the library.

In the context of mathematical and statistical analysis, a "fit" is something else entirely - still related to "functions".

Reading that "Fit is a header-only ... library that provides utilities for functions..." I was expecting something quite different ;-)
