1.34.0 release date?
Does anyone know when 1.34.0 is going to be released? Even approximately? - James Jones Administrative Data Mgmt. Webmaster 375 Raritan Center Pkwy, Suite A Data Architect Edison, NJ 08837
Does anyone know when 1.34.0 is going to be released? Even approximately?
Nope. We're working on clearing away the regressions. You can watch the progress here: http://engineering.meta-comm.com/boost-regression/CVS-RC_1_34_0/developer/is... (regressions are red squares). Note however that the msvc-8 failures are because of an installation mistake on the tester's part. -- Dave Abrahams Boost Consulting www.boost-consulting.com

I can add msvc-8 and msvc-7_1 (bjam v2) to my set of tests (32bit, not 64bit ones),. I'm also considering running tests on my other 64bit Linux machine (Ubuntu 6.06, dual-core AMD), compilers I have in mind are GCC 3.4.6 and 4.0.3 and maybe 4.1.1 , *if* there is some interest. B.

you wanna be so kind as to EXPLAIN the mistake I made?? I haven't touched that bzip junk in ages? IMO the mistake is in the way the scripts are updated and the fact that you guys NEVER mention that the testers must do somehting to accomodate the fact that you developers seem incapable of creating a "hands off" testing system.

No, I don't. These were from Sean Wang's results, and the MSVC installation mistake was immediately apparent from looking at the error messages (now fixed so you can't see it).
I haven't touched that bzip junk in ages?
Don't know what that means.

Calm down, Victor. Boost can't be expected to be responsible for making it easier for anyone to correctly install development tools not provided by us. -- Dave Abrahams Boost Consulting www.boost-consulting.com

Apologies. Given that there are exactly TWO msvc-8.0 testers (I didn't know a new one had shown up) and I couldn't find anything particularly different in my setup for several months it seems reasonable to believe the message was about _my_ testing setup.

well, if you looked at some of the red squares under RudbekAssociates msvc-8_0 and drill down iostreams it would be pellucidly clear.

Are you implying that the boost test and regression system is NOT provided by boost? Hmmm.

No, I'm implying we don't supply Visual C++, which is what is improperly installed on that system. -- Dave Abrahams Boost Consulting www.boost-consulting.com
Does that mean 1_34_0 passs all the tests on msvc-8, or just that the report
is inacurate for msvc-8?
Thanks,

People working with financial data are usually good at seeing trends. Start your Mozilla Firefox, go to http://lists.boost.org/Archives/boost/2006/08/subject.php and open all the mails with subject "[boost] Boost regression notification (2006-08-XX [RC_1_34_0])", each in a different tab. Then hold CTRL+TAB. That might give an idea. -- [ Gennaro Prota, C++ developer. Library designer ] [ For hire http://gennaro-prota.50webs.com/]
