ASIO: When part of official Boost release?
Hi, My apologies if this already has been asked, but I was wondering why the ASIO network library is not part of the standard distribution of Boost and doesn't appear on the Boost website. Will it ever be? And if so, from which Boost release is this targeted? My best regards, Andrej ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Answers - Got a question? The release cycle for 1.34 took longer than anyone would have liked, and during that process no new libraries were added to the main distribution. ASIO and many other new libraries will hopefully be in 1.35. There are many proposals afoot to get that release and/or future releases out much more quickly. ~ Scott
Dear Scott,
Thank you for the information.
Is there a rough indication about the release date of
1.35? Would that be in 2007, or more likely 2008? I
couldn't find any information on the Boost website
(not surprisingly).
Greetings,
Andrej

From what I recall, the current release work is going into 1.34.1,
I don't think it's possible to give a date that's any more than a hope. then the SVN migration will happen, then 1.35 will begin to be assembled, to be released once regressions are cleaned. How long that will take, I have no idea, and the process is under heavy discussion, so it might change drastically. ~ Scott
