How to use Boost Log

Hello, Well I know Boost log (http://torjo.com/) is not part of boost (yet ?) but I haven't been able to figure it out on my own... So I was hoping somebody here could help me. I've installed Boost using Boost Pro. The install is very easy though it does not install Boost Log. I got Boost Log separately but it does not come with libraries directly linkable with VS2009. How can I generate linkable libraries for Boost Pro, for VS2009? Thanks! Jean

the logging library to become Boost.Log is this one: http://sourceforge.net/projects/boost-log/ It has been accepted last week (and it's not John Torjo's library). Boris

Alright sorry for the confusion!
I read the getting started page and it recommends that windows users
get the installer.... But the installer does not provide boost.log...
I guess I need to compile the library then. But I've never ever
compiled Boost, I use boost pro... How do I install Boost.Log?
Thanks!
Jean

AFAIK Boost.Log is header only, so you just have to get the sources (using
svn for example). No compilation required.

It is not. Boost.Log can be compiled by: 1. Getting 1.42 source release 2. Unpacking Boost.Log on top of it -- I recommend svn version 3. Following the usual procedure: .\bootstap.bat .\bjam --with-log - Volodya

Alright that worked like a charm!
Thanks!

Hum, when I try to compile the basic_usage example in the boost.log
directory I get the following though:
Error 1 fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libboost_log-vc90-mt-gd-1_42.lib'
