Strange request... :-) Are you very, very low on disk space or something? Since in many cases, you don't need to compile Boost, "installing Boost" simply means expanding the archive in the directory of your choice. (Not sure if you knew that or not...) In order to get the tokenizer-related files, you have to expand the archive first...so...I'm not sure what you mean? Do you mean that you need to select the minimum number of files from the archive to get tokenizer to work? Unfortunately, I can't help you with that...I would expand the archive and keep deleting files until tokenizer fails to work. :-) Ray

Hi Ray,
Thank you for your reply. I tried installing boost until I ran out of
disk space .I had around 9GB free on my PC. It was all taken up by
boost. So I thought maybe I could install few libraries related to
tokenizer rather installing them all.
Can you suggest the libraries related to tokenizer
thank you

Tokenizer does not require any libraries to be built. You just need to install the headers. Also, you can use the bcp tool http://www.boost.org/tools/bcp/bcp.html In Christ, Steven Watanabe

Hi Steve,
How do I install the headers only in windows.
thanks

As I suggested in my first message, you install the headers by just de-archiving the file that you downloaded. You do not need to run any type of installation program to compile any libraries. Why don't you try this? Remove everything you've done and start from the archive again and just expand it. Don't compile Boost. See how much space it takes...it shouldn't be very much. (Sorry I can't tell you how big it is as I don't use it on Windows.) And quite honestly, if you are running out of space on your Windows machine, you have more serious problems later on...like a little warning message that pops up every 5 minutes telling you your disk space is full. :-) Ray

Hrm, that seems strange. On my system, with various things compiled and the object files still around, it takes about 275MB. Where are you getting boost from, and how are you installing it? ----Scott.

You should better ask for building only the libraries you need: by default bjam builds debug/non-debug, single/multi-thread, static/dynamic... and all combinations which is a lot. I only build release version, multi-thread, static and my disk usage is only 50 Mb. It does not do that, since 1.36, or maybe even since 1.35. Now it's release MT static/dynamic. - Volodya
