Are you using the Boost.Log from SVN or the downloaded version 1 zip file from sourceforge? In order to use Boost 1.46+ with Boost.Log it's easier to use the SVN trunk version, because Boost.Log version 1 requires filesystem 2 and Boost.Log trunk uses filesystem 3 (which is the default in 1.46+).
