CVS instructions at http://www.boost.org/more/getting_started.html#CVS don't work.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I tried to get a copy of Boost CVS using the instructions at http://www.boost.org/more/getting_started.html#CVS, but I got this error: ~ $ cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.boost.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/boost login ~ Logging in to :pserver:anonymous@cvs.boost.sourceforge.net:2401/cvsroot/boost ~ CVS password: ~ cvs [login aborted]: connect to cvs.boost.sourceforge.net(66.35.250.209):2401 failed: Connection timed out However, when I use the SF CVS instructions at http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=7586, I have no problems. It recommends the following line instead. cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/boost login The difference seems to be cvs.boost.sourceforge.net versus cvs.sourceforge.net. Is this a temporary technical problem? Or should the instructions on the getting_started.html be updated? Thanks, Aaron W. The instructions need to change. SF made some recent DNS changes that prevent the use of the cvs.<project>.sourceforge.net alias. -- -- Grafik - Don't Assume Anything -- Redshift Software, Inc. - http://redshift-software.com -- rrivera/acm.org - grafik/redshift-software.com - 102708583/icq

Will you update the CVS and the webpage, Rene? Don't forget to make sure other people have write permission on the file, please! -- Dave Abrahams Boost Consulting http://www.boost-consulting.com
