I investigated a little bit more. Seems that save/load_construct data needs the version # and there is no place else to get it.
Why can't you directly use serialization::version<T>::value? This is for instance what you're doing at lines 51 and following of boost/serialization/hash_collections_save_imp.hpp. Joaquín M López Muñoz Telefónica, Investigación y Desarrollo
