Though, I think there should be a (big) warning on the
web-site, might safe some time and frustration for
other users. Currently it sais "There are currently no
known bugs".
Furthermore, I think it is a great library, especialy
the seamless intergration with boost/variant and
smart_ptr :)

Agreed. Atleast Robert has plans to fix it which is good. I believe gcc has the concept of threadsafe statics where dynamic initialization is protected by a mutex so atleast there you should be safe.
