Same experience for me, but with multithread statically linked. The library was libboost_filesystem-vc71-mt-sgd-1_32.lib

As for building the libraries, I followed instructions for building with boost.jam with good success.

I got the posted code to pass with VC7.1, /MDd and /Zc:wchar_t.
