Now that the new standard is nearly finished, the idea is to make them fully compliant, backport to C++03 all possible features and also have a library to experiment new proposals (N1953: Upgrading the Interface of Allocators using API Versioning and N2045: Improving STL allocators), enhancement functions, etc.
