PS. I think I may have misunderstand the original proposal.
If its to strip out compatibility code for these compilers my vote would be -1
If it would be to just stop investing effort in maintaining compatibility - which is the current policy - I would vote +1

As with all software, anything not actively maintained eventually fades away. If devs stop supporting it, the various VC6-specific sections will gradually move out of the tree as part of the development process. That's less work and less likely to accidentally break something critical than an active purge. Damien
