did you try to updrage jam from the boost package:
No I just downloaded the prebuilt exe. I guess I should build my own jam.exe.
-make subst for any directory containing space
Agh - this is almost certainly the problem... I found no mention of this in the build instructions. I could always reinstall my compiler in a different location. Yuck.
