That '\r' looks suspiciously like a carriage return. Have you verified that your file is using the UN*X-style line-feed ("\n") instead of the WINDOWS-style carriage-return/line-feed pair ("\r\n")? There are a number of ways to convert files between the two delimiter formats including emacs, dos2unix, unix2dos, etc. See "man dos2unix" for more details. Ed -- Edward H.
