If there is interest in doing that (but not time from maintainers), I can port these metafunctions to MPL library.
I am currently triaging MPL tickets so I can effectively fix them. I you add relevant info to your contributino in a ticket, I'll add it to my soon-to-be-processed-MPL maintenance todo list.
