So it was the extraction that failed originally? If so, could you tell us what program you used, so we can warn people when they have similar problems.

And please clarify what you mean by "the boost executable."

He might mean he followed the instructions on the boost wiki (http://www.crystalclearsoftware.com/cgi-bin/boost_wiki/wiki.pl?Installi ngBoost)
