[mpl::transform] How to make metafunction from transform?

Hello All! I want to parametrize mpl::transform to form a new metafunction. But I have confused with mpl syntax and notations. Imagine, I have following vector typedef boost::mpl::vector<Type1, Type2, Type3, Type4> types; and following transformation: typedef boost::mpl::transform< types , boost::is_convertible<Type3, boost::mpl::_1> >::type result; The result of the tansformation is a bool vector that indicates whether Type3 is convertible to any of type from types vector. Now I want to form metafunction that will construct such array not from Type3, but from its argument. Of course, I may use straightforward method: struct WhoConverted { template <typename ConversionType> struct apply { typedef typename boost::mpl::transform< types , boost::is_convertible<ConversionType, boost::mpl::_1> >::type type; }; }; But it seems more like workaround rather than solution. Build problems with Sun Studio 8 compiler

Hi, I'm very new to boost & jam - wanting to use boost::format for internationalisation. I'm having problems building on Solaris 9 using the Studio 8 compiler and accompanying stlport4. Best results so far are using BBv2 (with boost 1.32.0 distribution I get 100 targets built, 8 failed, 5 skipped). I've read a lot of the online doco but now grinding to a halt. This is what I have: Platform: SunOS 5.9 Generic_112233-12 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240 Compiler: Sun C++ 5.5 Patch 113817-08 2004/04/13 Distribution: boost-jam-3.1.10 & boost_1_32_0 The tarballs are unpacked in ./boost-jam & ./boost respectively. I added following lines to my user-config.jam: using sun ; using stlport : : /opt/Studio8/SUNWspro/prod/include/CC/stlport4 ; >From my top-level Makefile, bjam builds ok, then I kick off the boost build: ( \ PATH=`pwd`/boost-jam/bin.solaris:${PATH} ; \ BOOST_BUILD_PATH=`pwd`/boost/tools/build/v2 ; \ export PATH BOOST_BUILD_PATH ; \ cd boost ; \ bjam --v2 \ ) The build errors in the 8 failed targets are mostly template-related (no surprise there!). By minor tweaks to a few sources, I'm down to 3 failed, 2 skipped; but the remaining problems I find a bit more obscure. I can post actual errors if desired, but my initial questions are: # Am I doing anything obviously dumb in the above? Eg. should I be using BBv1 rather than BBv2? # Is anyone successfully building with this compiler? If so, what magic am I missing? Plus any other advice would be appreciated (however switching compilers is not an option :) Steve Sims

I recommend just adding the boost.thread files into your IDE project, that is what we've done with boost.filesystem and, I think, boost.thread as well in my company's product. serialization library link errors...

Hi everyone, I'm getting some link errors when I try to use the serialization library. I'm using VC7.1 and other modules (array, tokenizer, assign) seem to compile and link fine. Also, is there built-in support for serialization of boost::array? problems with boot::multi_array and standard algorithms

I cant get boost::multi_array to wrk with STL algorithms. bjam build of boost.thread on mac - does not work??

We have been unable to get bjam to build boost::threads using Metrowerks CD 9.3 on Mac OS X. The command lines generated by bjam are invalid and rejected by the compiler (mwcc). 1) has anyone been able to get bjam to work correctly in the above set up? 2) or, does anyone have a valid version of the threads.mcp project? accessing the underlying C array of a boost::array

Does anyone know what the preferred method of accessing the underlying C array of a boost::array is? In boost 1.32 there is a data() member which returns a const pointer, and a c_array() member which returns a pointer. Also, the elems member itself is public. But at http://www.josuttis.com/cppcode/array.html, the author states that data() can be used for both const and non-const pointers, and indeed it is so in the version he posts on his website http://www.josuttis.com/cppcode/array.hpp.html (which doesn't provide the c_array() member but overloads data() instead). -- Frank

regex_token_iterator bug?

Dear all, I just played a little bit with the regex_token_iterator ( boost v 1.32) and modified the "html" example. I found this (strange?) behavior when i "tokenize" a string. while (i != j) { std::cout << i++->str().length() << std::endl; } crashes at runtime at the last sub-match of a match with: mtest: ../boost_1_32_0/boost/shared_ptr.hpp:253: T* boost::shared_ptr<T>::operator->() const [with T = boost::regex_token_iterator_implementation<__gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<const char*, std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> > >, char, boost::regex_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> >]: Assertion `px != 0' failed. zsh: 24497 abort mtest test.html Whereas: while (i != j) { std::cout << i->str().length() << std::endl; i++; } works fine. [BGL] implementing operator < for edge_descriptors

Hello, I am trying to create a std::map<edge_descriptor, unsigned int>. Unfortunaltely, there is no less operator defined for edge descriptors, so i'd like to implement my own version based on a custom internal property associated with the edge. Is it possible to access an arbitrary property, solely based on an edge_descriptor without having access to the graph object? Here some pseudo-code: struct compare_edge_descriptors { bool operator()(edge_descriptor e1, edge_descriptor e2) { unsigned int val1 = get_property_somehow(e1.get_property(), my_custom_property); unsigned int val2 = get_property_somehow(e2.get_property(), my_custom_property); return (val1 < val2 ); } }; Do you have an idea how to implement "get_property_somehow"?
