i found that , when int a = 2, b = 0 the expression max( (_1 - _2 - 4)( a, b ) , 0 ); should return 0, but return -2, why ? is it a bug in lambda?

Hi all, I am trying to use boost::accumulators lib and I would appreciate some help. I do not know how to use the tag::density. How do I use : accumulator_set<double, tag::density > angular_acc; and set density::cache_size density::num_bins To have for example 10 subdivisions between -pi and pi ? Bug in filesystem library? (wpath, wdirectory_iterator)

I noticed something which looks pretty much like a bug in the filesystem library. Both version 1.34.1 and CVS are affected under Linux. I do not know about other versions/platforms. Hello, I am attempting to design a class: class C { std::map<double, const A> ma; std::map<double, const B> ma; . public: C(...); }; The keys in the 2 maps are always identical. So I could choose: std::map<double, const std::pair<A,B> > or std::map<double, const std::pair<A,B>* > (ps: AFAIK, using a const-ref for the pair is impossible, but possible with some boost classes) Q1: Is there a difference in memory usage, in access speed or in code readability between the top choice and bottom ones? Q2: Between the 2 bottom ones (storing the pair object in the map vs storing the ptr) Q3: For users of class C, what sort of constructors should I offer? C::C(const std::map<double, const std::pair<A,B>* >& ) Or, should I allow adding elements to the map after the object being constructed? Oops. The below is no longer a problem. In order to resolve the problem, I reinstalled boost from Boost Consulting and had it install all the libraries. One I dropped my belief that I had done everything correctly and I redid the installation was I able to resolve the problem. identification of thread

Hi, Could you please explain for beginner in thread-related business, how the thread is identified from itself? Can the program, that it the given thread, obtain its own number or an index of itself? I assume that there should be some enumeration such as numbering the main program by 0, next child thread by 1, etc.? And, in particular, is this number available from boost thread library? Hello, We are experiencing a problem with boost::random using icc on Windows under optimization. If we compile with the -O1 option, we get correct behavior. Compiling with -O2 or no -O option gives us a string of zeros. I am guessing something in the optimization is causing the generator not to initialize properly, but I do not, at present, know how to solve it. Constant floats

Supporting Visual Studio 6 in boost

Hi there, This is not exactly a user question, but I was wondering if a couple of boost developers could comment on the support of VS6 in boost. How much time consuming is it ? Are there plan to actually drop it at some point ? Were there cases where you had to provide a duplicate implementation (partial specialization, template template parameter, SFINAE...) with slight modifications, therefore making the boost code more difficult to maintain ? How much did this compiler impact the design of boost API / internals ? I realise that what I am doing is no doubt an unconventional usage of boost::serialization, but I wonder if any one has done a similar thing before. I wish to serialize a derived class through a baseclass pointer, but on deserilize I do not want the object to be created (I do not want memory allocated) - as the object will have all ready been created. An example, hopefully showing what I mean, is given at the end. The program will output something like, construct A, _m = 155640808 serialise A, _m = 155640808 construct A, _m = 155649400 serialise A, _m = 155649808 But essentially I want the program to output something lke, construct A, _m = 155640808 serialise A, _m = 155640808 construct A, _m = 155649400 serialise A, _m = 155649400 i.e. the second lot of construct A/serialise A will have the same address for _m. The reason why I need this behaviour, is that only a sub-set of the derived class will be seriliazed, with the other parts of the class intialised differently depending on the session, and the initialisation of the class is always done _before_ deserialisation. Is there anyway to get this behaviour from the boost::serialization library? statechart unit testing

Hi All, I have statechart implementation that I have spread over multiple translation units - I would like to unit test the control logic by inserting mock transition actions. The library is explicitly designed not to be dynamic - Can anyone suggest a way I could accomplish this - Its also likely that I could reuse the statechart control logic with different implementations of transition actions so if it is possible to inject this dependency I can reuse the code. Hi Benjamin, From what you've explained in your mail, it seems that you're trying to use Boost.Logging from a DLL and an EXE as well. I need to know more details about your scenario. My suggestion: - defining the logs (BOOST_DEFINE_LOG) should happen in the DLL - declaring the logs (BOOST_DECLARE_LOG) should happen in both EXE and DLL - DO NOT define the logs in the EXEcutable as well Note that at this time if you do logging before initializing the logs, nothing will happen - I will fix this very soon. Dear All I would like some help with graph structure for the edmund_karp max flow min cut function. I have a general graph in which I have many properties + edge and vertex. I sould like to run edmund karp on this graph however I have not been able to make the structure right for edmund karp and therefore I have made a second graph a flow graph. Hello, I am new in mailing list.... I run the code for dijkstra-example but seem that the section for dijkstra function does not run. write_graphviz problem

Hello, I'm boost newbie and have some problems with write_graphviz function. I've already asked this question but perhaps with bad subject so i try again. Sorry if you read this second time. In write_graphviz function documentation I can read that PropertyWriter can be used for print both: interior and exterior properties for each vertex of a graph into the graphviz format file. I can find some example of printing graph properties stored in property maps, for example calling: write_graphviz(std::cout, g, make_label_writer(name)); when the graph have 'name' property map. but how to do that when storing properies as bundled properies? I defined following graph: typedef adjacency_list<vecS, vecS, bidirectionalS, Vect_f, Edge_f> Graph; where: struct Vect_f { int factor; int lowlink; int component; int color; bool in_stack; }; struct Edge_f { int num_visited; int color_k; }; and I want to lay out and print my graph with coloured vertexes (I can always change the type of colour property for more suitable if necessary) but I dont't have any idea to do this.
