Hello List. I have been trying to get this regular expression to work without any success. enable_if catch all?

Supposing I have 4 or 5 mutually exclusive overloads of a function using enable_if as a function parameter with a default argument, is there any way for me to provide an additional version of this function that handles every other case, without manually combining all the previous cases and using another enable_if? I am having a linking issue with Boost.Test on my Mac OS X 10.5. Consider the following example: #define BOOST_TEST_DYN_LINK #include <boost/test/unit_test.hpp> void test() { } boost::unit_test::test_suite* init_unit_test_suite(int argc, char* argv[]) { boost::unit_test::test_suite* ts = BOOST_TEST_SUITE("test suite"); ts->add(BOOST_TEST_CASE(&test)); boost::unit_test::framework::master_test_suite().add(ts); return 0; } This does not compile with the following command: g++ test.cc -L/opt/local/lib -lboost_unit_test_framework-mt I am getting the following linker error: Undefined symbols: "_main", referenced from: start in crt1.10.5.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status It works, however, using the automatic test module definition, e.g. #define BOOST_TEST_DYN_LINK #define BOOST_TEST_MODULE foo #include <boost/test/unit_test.hpp> and works also when I remove BOOST_TEST_DYN_LINK and compile the program with the static library: g++ test.cc /opt/local/lib/libboost_unit_test_framework-mt.a But I can't get the first example code above to link. Creating a managed_mapped_file

Hello, I would like to create a managed_mapped_file which should contain a certain number of elements[n] of a certain size [k], therefore the required size which I would like to use is n*k (size of element * number of elements). But when the file is created [new bip::managed_mapped_file (bip::create_only, fileName, n*k);] besides the elements which I would like to placed in this file, a segment manager<http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_39_0/doc/html/interprocess/architecture.htm…> is also placed there and occupies an uncertain space [http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_39_0/doc/html/interprocess/architecture.htm…] I would like to know how much memory (size of file) shall I require in the C-tor so that my file will have enough space for n elements of size k, and be as compact as possible. Hi there, I'm trying to use boost asio to transfer large objects through a tcp socket. I'm using the Serialization code from the asio documentation as reference. I got a transfer problem and can't find any clue, I'm posting here as a last resort. If someone has a little time to point out my mistakes I'll be really gratefull ! A question on member functions when using lambda expression. Can anyone with kindness help me?

I am using Dev-C++ with lambda expression and building a DLL. In Dev-C++, when the program is used as a exe.It works fine. But I want to make it a class (i.e.classA in the following)in a DLL for other exes to use it. And the error occured: In dll.cpp: ................ void classA::a() ......................... (while_loop(bind(&isprime,_1)==false, ++var(result))(middlevalue); ...................... where bool isprime(int) is also a member function of classA. But the complier told me that: ISO C++ forbids taking the address of an unqualified non-static member function to form a pointer to member function. I do not know how to solve it. Can anyone with kindness help me?

Hi All I'm very much a Fusion newbie, just getting may head around it, so a really basic question! >From the intro page, when we write #include <boost/fusion/sequence.hpp> #include <boost/fusion/include/sequence.hpp> vector<int, char, std::string> stuff for_each(stuff, print_xml()); am I correct in believing that there is no loop involved in the for_each, and that this resolves, at compile time, to a linear list of function calls? Boost filesystem get_temporary_file()

There has been some discussion about this functionality on the lists many years ago - did anything come of this? compilation error with mpl transform

Is the following supposed to work? I feel like I'm missing something obvious: typedef boost::mpl::vector<int, float, double> vec_type; template<template<class T>, class U> struct parameterize { typedef T<U> type; }; template<class T> class wrapper { }; typedef boost::mpl::transform<vec_type, parameterize<wrapper, boost::mpl::_1> > wrapped_vec; When I do this I get compile errors on MSVC 9.0. However if I remove the template template and hardcode T to wrapper in struct parameterize, it works fine.

Fusion container from MPL typelist?

Suppose I have a boost::mpl::vector<...> and I want a boost::fusion::vector<...> whose types correspond exactly to the types in the mpl::vector. Is there a simple way to go about this? It seems like all the methods of constructing a fusion vector require me to manually specify the individual types as the parameters to fusion::vector<>.

[filesystem] support for reading symlinks?

Hi all, I was wondering whether there was any support for reading the contents of a symlink in the filesystem library, i.e. the path to the file it points to. I saw that back in 2006 somebody submitted a patch that would (among other things) do this. However the patch seems never to have made it into the main trunk. Of course that is fairly easy to implement that myself, but if there is a standard implementation I'd rather use that. Thanks in advance, Nils

testing boost cross-compiled

Having configured the Boost library for our embedded target, built Boost and tested a few examples successfully we'd like to incorporate Boost into our testing framework. I've a couple of queries, though: 1. When we run the run.py script it checks out a fresh version of Boost from SVN, perhaps clobbering local changes or at least wasting a lot of time before testing. The workaround suggested in the website (http://beta.boost.org/development/running_regression_tests.html) - that is passing "--user=" to the script - doesn't change this. Is there any way to prevent this happening reliably? 2. Any executable we generate will need to be run using our command line simulator (i.e. we might create test.dxe, and run using jitccs532.exe test.dxe), how should I convey this to the test suite? 3. Our simulator does support input redirection via the command line (i.e. $ yes | jitccs532 test.dxe) or command line arguments - does this mean that some of tests won't be usable? - Sean

[multi-index] Key extractor for 1:n relationship?

All the key extractors in the documentation of Boost.MultiIndex return one value for an element in a container. Is it somehow possible to use a 1:n relationship between element and value? The documentation uses this container definition (among others): typedef multi_index_container< employee, indexed_by< hashed_unique< const_mem_fun<employee, std::string, &employee::name> > > > employee_set; Let's assume an employee can have more than one name (std::string becomes std::vector<std::string>). [Graph] Defining coordinates for vertices

Hi, I can't figure out if it is possible (and if it is, how) to assign coordinates to graph vertices on planar graphs. I've tried setting the property vertex_index_t to std::pair<int, int> but it doesn't seem to work (make_maximal_planar doesn't use them for example). I'm trying to represent a 2D terrain via a triangular mesh. So far it is easy : I add all the points of the mesh as vertices and create the appropriated edges. But now I'm trying to make this graph evolve, which means adding new vertices (at some precise coordinates) and having them automagically linked to all other vertices possible while keeping the graph planar. BOOST_CLASS_TRACKING compilation error : tracking_level not a class or a namespace

Hi, I want to disable tracking because of the now somewhat famous (STATIC_ASSERT compilation errors). I have a few classes within a namespace in a header file. For serialization of these, I want to disable tracking so I placed the macros: BOOST_CLASS_TRACKING(mynamespace::myClassA, boost:serialization::track_never); BOOST_CLASS_TRACKING(mynamespace::myClassB, boost:serialization::track_never); outside mynamespace. For this I am getting compilation errors saying : 'struct boost::serialiazation::tracking_level<mynamespace::myClassA>::type' is not a class or a namespace. I've included the boost header files, etc. in my header file. What am I missing? All help appreciated. - Benjamin Jacob.

[Serialization] Questions / Comments

After having used the serialization library for quite a while, it seems that I'm approaching a point where I are seeing lots duplicate code which could be inside a serialization function. In turn, this head lead me to some questions / comments. The use of serialization in my case is both file and network oriented. This means reading and writing a great deal of short-lived archives. Works fine in between c++ programs, but outside that it's quickly becoming an infeasible task. Creating a custom archive could be an option, however, I would need to spend serious time on understanding the code due to the heavy use of macros. The question to be answered first is whether the current serialization architecture is able to fulfill my needs, or whether I should consider using other options. Considering the following two scenarios / questions: 1) Suppose I would like to create a custom XML archive which can both read shuffled XML data (its attributes/values in arbitrary order), and serialize to child attributes as well as named child nodes. Currently, name-value pairs are in the Serializable concept. I think they belong in the Archive Concept. Otherwise, it may be impossible to read XML- formatted data where the nodes are not in the same order as in the C++ code? In addition, suppose serializing a program structure is like a tree or graph, then name-value-pairs do not allow for any other nesting than the C++ code (i.e., it assumes everything is a child node). To allow for making distinction between nesting levels, one could think of, e.g., template< typename Archive > void serialize( Archive& ar, const unsigned int version ) { ar.serialize_node( "subtree", m_contained_class ); ar.serialize_attribute( "use_count", m_int ); } Is something like this possible? To this end, would it be possible to plug- in another parser, e.g., RapidXML? 2) I would like to create an archive that speaks the Action Message Format (AMF). Although I do have trouble finding a clear distinct parsing layer in the archives, I think this is possible to do. Phoenix 2, 3 and related stuff

I'm currently fiddling with Phoenix 2 and i ended up needing look over my lambda statement to reorder/optimize them. AFAIK, Phoenix 2 is not proto-powered but phoenix 3 is not out yet.
