Boost Test - catching assertions, marking them as a success?

Hi, I'm looking at using Boost Test as a means to carry out unit tests and wondered if there is a guard for assertions like there is for exception handling to say, "this test should assert()", fail if it does not. This would be really handy, especially if it was available in the Auto unit tests: BOOST_AUTO_UNIT_TEST_SHOULD_ASSERT( object_calls_assert ) { myobject foo; foo.callAssert(); } or something similar. Forgive me. I reviewed your code- but I am having a hard time totally seeing what you are trying to do (by the code alone). Allow me to offer a suggestion from what I understand of your description of the problem: 1- For your special callback, save it off somewhere as a boost.function<> 2- then call the boost.function<> you have saved before calling your signals It is not clear to me if you want the "special" callback to also be in the signal. boost::filesystem bug for win98

Hello, The windows implementation for find_first_file is flawed for windows 98. The problem is appending \* to the dir path: this is not supported for win98. Hello. I'm having problems with boost::signal. I have a simple callback system: typedef boost::signal<void (const String &)> StringCallbacks; TSharedPtr<StringCallbacks> stringCallbacks; stringCallbacks contains void (Const String &) -callback functions. boost::trim Am I wrong?

I just write a simple test of trim: #include <string> #include <boost/algorithm/string.hpp> int main(){ using namespace std; string temp = " just test "; boost::trim(temp); return 0; } but it couldn't pass the compile, error was: [C++ Error] trim.hpp(233): E2285 Could not find a match for 'detail::trim_end(undefined,undefined,detail::is_classifiedF)' [C++ Error] trim.hpp(126): E2285 Could not find a match for 'detail::trim_begin(undefined,undefined,detail::is_classifiedF)' but when I move the "using namespace std;" out of main function: #include <string> #include <boost/algorithm/string.hpp> using namespace std; int main(){ string temp = " just test "; boost::trim(temp); return 0; } I don't know why?

minor error in example for numeric_cast

Hi! Just a minor documentation bug, but worth to be fixed: In the example on page http://www.boost.org/libs/numeric/conversion/doc/numeric_cast.html the line #include <boost/numeric_cast.hpp> should be replaced by #include <boost/cast.hpp> best regards, Markus

FOREACH issues with GCC 3.2.3

Hi Folks, It recently became known that our customer is using GCC 3.2.3; so I tried to compile our code (which makes heavy use of the FOREACH macro) with 3.2.3. I get a _ton_ of error messages like: warning: unused variable `bool _foreach_rvalue' Since we always compile with options that make warnings fatal, a large part of our project can't compiler with GCC 3.2.3. Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone have a solution? (e.g. is there a hack that will fool compilers into thinking _foreach_rvalue is used?) hi, would it be possible to add a set of overloads to lexical_cast to allow for more efficient conversions when the code to do so is readily available (and especially when it is part of the standard library)? below is part of my own rather simplistic implementation of this idea which has been tested on VC7.1 and seems to work fine. other overloads for floats using atof etc. proceed in a similar manner to that for ints. template<class T, class U> T to(U const& u) { return to(u, Type2Type<T>()); } template<class T, class U> T to(U const& u, Type2Type<T> const&) { return lexical_cast<T>(u); } int to(std::string const& arg, Type2Type<int> const&) { return atoi(arg.c_str()); } ian whittley
