[bind?] 'boost::bind' : ambiguous call to overloaded function -- when compiling for x64

Hello, My project builds well with MSVC10 for x86 platform. However, when I tried to build it for x64, I started to get the following strange error: 1>...cpp(42): error C2668: 'boost::bind' : ambiguous call to overloaded function 1> ...\boost\boost/bind/bind_mf_cc.hpp(43): could be 'boost::_bi::bind_t<R,F,L> boost::bind<void,MyImpl,const boost::system::error_code&,boost::shared_ptr<T>,boost::system::error_code>(R (__cdecl MyImpl::* )(B1),A1,A2)' <...> 1> ...\boost\boost/bind/bind_mf_cc.hpp(43): or 'boost::_bi::bind_t<R,F,L> boost::bind<void MyImpl,const boost::system::error_code&,boost::shared_ptr<T>,boost::system::error_code>(R (__cdecl MyImpl::* )(B1),A1,A2)' Note that the both variants are actually the same one. The source line that causes the error looks like this: io_service_.post(boost::bind(&MyImpl::func, someSharedPtr)); i.e. boost::bind name is fully qualified. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this error in a "fresh" trivial project, so I realize that the problem most likely isn't in Bind, but somewhere in my project. The question is what could cause such a behavior? Did anyone encounter such an issue? Thanks.

Hi, I am new to boost, just trying to use it for the first time. I have a test code which uses Boost and I am trying to get it running on my machine. BGL VA? (UNCLASSIFIED)

Classification: UNCLASSIFIED Caveats: NONE Not a boost programming question exactly. I am mostly a visual analytics (VA) programmer using X3D to interact/navigate w/i a visualization. And for most of the past year learning/using BGL to build and traverse small graphs represention, e.g. terrorist networks, for information discovery. Is there just 1 existing parser (AT&T Graphviz DOT) for r/w from a text file? This format is quite good for examining graphs; and maybe it can do 3D position vectors. But just wondering if I should consider others for 3D display of networks, and for a visual analytics technology. Hope this q is appropriate, or maybe I should become more familiar with BGL first. Compiling Regex with BCB6 gives error in _epilog.h

When compiling Boosts Regex (1.33 and 1.49) with BCB6 I get an error in CBuilder6\include\stl\_epilog.h line 28: Declaration syntax error. The line reads: namespace _STLP_STD {}. What can I do to compile regex with BCG6?

I'm trying to use interprocess' containers. I get compilation errors when including the container header files. [wave] dependency tracking #include

Hi all - Image that I might be a masochist, and want to write my own cross-platform build system. I'd want to track dependencies and only rebuild the object files that have modified dependencies. Of course, I could write my own header parser, and manually track #defines and #includes and follow files, etc... but my thought was that a preprocessor already does all of this work. How hard would it be to tap wave for this kind of information? Am I barking up the wrong tree? Is there some other solution that would be better? Thanks, Brian

[Filesystem] Need to provide filesystem and system libraries to link

Hello, I'm upgrading my code from 1.42 to 1.49. Eventually I will upgrade from filesystem v2 to v3, but for now I'm stuck using v2. I noticed during my recompilation that code using filesystem no longer compiles unless I specify both the -lboost_filesystem and -lboost_system linker arguments; previously I only had to provide the -lboost_filesystem argument. I'm using g++ 4.6.2 on rhel6. I verified this by attempting to compile the file_size example that comes with boost. I was wondering if this is a necessary change due to the differences between 1.42 and 1.49 or if I'm doing something incorrectly. Thanks.

[Boost.Test] Using boost::exception

Hi! I think it might be a great feature if Boost.Test would be able to print diagnostic information saved in boost::exception. Actually my code havily relies on boost::exception. If one of my tests fail, I usually get nothing saying "std::exception occured" error message. But if Boost.Test could just catch boost::exception and print the default diagnostig info it would be a great help. Best Regards, Ovanes
