Hello, I am building an app for IOS (ARM) and I had this issue while compiling: *Boost.Numeric.Interval: Please specify rounding control mechanism.* C99 version should be used in this case but __USE_ISOC99 is not defined. Modifying the condition with this code (using __cplusplus) fixed the issue: *boost/numeric/interval/hw_rounding.hpp(36)* *#if defined(BOOST_NUMERIC_INTERVAL_NO_HARDWARE) && (defined(__USE_ISOC99) || defined(__MSL__) || (defined __cplusplus && __cplusplus >= 201103L))# include <boost/numeric/interval/detail/c99_rounding_control.hpp>#endif* Let me know if I missed something or if you plan to integrate this modification in a next version. [review][STLInterfaces] STLInterfaces review results

Many thanks are owed to all who participated in the formal review of Zach Laine's STLInterfaces library, especially during this busy holiday season: * Hadriel Kaplan - ACCEPT * Andreas Wass - ACCEPT * Rainer Deyke - ACCEPT * Arthur Gruzauskas - ACCEPT * Krystian Stasiowski - ACCEPT * Daniela Engert - CONDITIONALLY ACCEPT * Gavin Lambert - Technical comments First, a summary of the reviews: 1. Design Reviewers were unanimous in their appreciation for the design. Krystian had the only asterisk about the design, noting that derived class members should ideally be SFINAE-detected, where the library feature would SFINAE where the corresponding required derived feature detection fails. I have a different opinion about this, but we can discuss that elsewhere. 2. Implementation The container_interface destructor and the optional dependency on cmcstl2 were snags for multiple reviewers. Several compile errors were discovered that need to be addressed. 3. Documentation Reviewers found the documentation to be "ok". A common request was for better organization of derived-class requirements, particularly with the container_interface template. Reviewers also lamented the lack of training wheels for the subject matter. 4. Tests Hadriel noted the lack of non-copyable value_type tests, while Daniela noted the lack of Boost.Build support. Hadriel was the only one who commented on the quality of tests ("good"), and the only one who ran them. Arthur did his own testing, to satisfaction. I appreciate the presence of SFINAE-friendliness tests and the continuous integration. 5. Usefulness Reviewers appreciated the usefulness of the library. Arthur is "using it happily", while others found it "very useful", "fairly useful", or of "high" usefulness. However, Krystian's response implied that this library may not be as useful for containers needing extreme performance. The reviews clearly demonstrate a consensus. Accordingly, I'm pleased to announce that STLInterfaces is CONDITIONALLY ACCEPTED as a Boost library. Conditions for acceptance: 1. Remove optional dependency on cmcstl2 (issue #27) 2. Add Boost license comments to all files, including appveyor.yml, .travis.yml, README.md, */CMakeLists.txt (issue #26) 3. Support Boost.Build (issue #25) 4. Replace googletest with Boost equivalent (issue #24) 5. Remove usage of non-existent v2_dtl members in container_interface.hpp (issue #22) 6. Include <tuple> for std::tie usage in C++14 mode (issue #21) 7. Fix dangling parens in container_inteface.hpp:731 (issue #20) 8. Make Concepts usage C++20-conformant (issue #13) 9. Remove the destructor in container_interface (issue #12) 10. Add tests for non-copyable value types (issue #30) Suggestions: 1. Explicitly document the signatures and return types of functions provided by base class templates (issue #23) 2. Mention the C++20 generator pattern in documentation (issue #19) 3. Document the library's interactions with Ranges (issue #18) 4. Remove unnecessary comments (issue #17) 5. Investigate compile error in VS2015 (msvc 19.0.3) due to issues with noexcept() operator in function overloading (issue #16) 6. Rename container_interface to sequence_container_interface (issue #15) 7. Change the 'contiguous' bool to an enum (issue #14) 8. Document the relationship between value_type operator== and containter_interface-defined operator== (issue #11) 9. Improve table/section names for better navigation of container_interface tutorial (issue #10) 10. Clean up BOOST_STL_INTERFACES_DOXYGEN usage (issue #28) 11. Split up fwd.hpp into multiple headers (issue #29) 12. Document optimization trade-offs of proxy_iterator_interface (issue #30) Rationale: 1. Condition #1 is, I feel, the appropriate default as review manager. If Zach feels strongly about keeping the optional dependency on cmcstl2, we should discuss. 2. Unless the library requirements webpage has fallen out of date, new libraries must still support Boost.Build. 3. A not-so-quick grep of current Boost libraries yields no `gtest` results. I assume that we do not allow googletest as the sole test framework in a library. 4. The other conditions should be self-explanatory. I was able to eliminate most of the error messages during compilation by modifying the contents of boost\asio\detail\config.hpp. I changed this line from: # define BOOST_ASIO_CONCEPT concept bool to # define BOOST_ASIO_CONCEPT concept After the above change, there are still two error messages from boost\asio\async_result.hpp lines 70 and 492. The issue in these lines is they are defining a concept that is also using a concept in one of their arguments which I think is not allowed by the standard. I am not up to speed yet with concept definitions therefore I have not been able to resolve this remaining issue. Hello, I am new to C++ and thus new to Boost. My goal is to serialize a class containing multiple std::valarrays with primitives as content. Hello, I am using boost asio in a cross platform project. The project consists of two libraries, having a C call API in between. Until now, each of those two libraries uses boost::asio internally. Each of these libraries have their own instance of boost::asio::io_service. I now need to implement a change, that requires to pass a connected socket from one library to the other one via the C call API: This is what I want to do it. * Lib1 calls new method connect() in lib2 * lib2::connect() creates a boost::asio::ip::tcp::socket * lib2::connect() connects to a service * lib2::connect() does some async communication with that service. * when the service is initialized, lib2::connect() shall pass the native handle back to its caller (Lib1). * Lib1 then creates a boost::asio::ip::tcp::socket from the native handle I have learned, that there is no way to destroy a boost::asio::ip::tcp::socket without closing the native handle. So, I have to dup() it. No problem on POSIX systems, on Windows I can use a combination of WSADuplicateSocket () and WSASocket () to achieve the same. Everything works fine on Linux, but on Windows, the parts do not work together :) The individual parts are working find. * I can use the boost::asio::ip::tcp::socket to communicate with the service. * I can use WSADuplicateSocket () and WSASocket () to get a 2nd, native handle to the socket * I can use the 2nd, native handle to communicate to the service, even after destroying the boost::asio::ip::tcp::socket instance. * I also can create a working boost::asio::ip::tcp::socket from a native socket handle, created with socket() and connected to a service with connect(). BUT: If I try to create a boost::asio::ip::tcp::socket on the socket created by the WSADuplicateSocket () and WSASocket () sequence, I get an exception. The call to CreateIoCompletionPort() in win_iocp_io_service.ipp, win_iocp_io_service::register_handle() fails with error 87 (Invalid Parameter). I have no idea, why CreateIoCompletionPort() is failing and how to avoid this. Here is a sample program demonstrating my problem. Boost 1.70 Thread library and Sun Studio Pro 12.4

Hi, just to signal an issue that I encounter with the boost (1.70) thread library compiling my library. I got this linking problem: Undefined first referenced symbol in file void boost::detail::set_tss_data(const void*,void(*)(void(*)(void*),void*),void(*)(void*),void*,bool) CMakeFiles/basic.dir/containers/MemoryPool.cpp.o void*boost::detail::get_tss_data(const void*) CMakeFiles/basic.dir/containers/MemoryPool.cpp.o So I investigated and I found that was missing the export keyword for Sun Solaris. I modified the file boost/thread/detail/config.hpp:498 in this way #elif (__GNUC__ == 4 && __GNUC_MINOR__ >= 1) || (__GNUC__ > 4) || (__SUNPRO_CC) and I solved it. After upgrading from boost 1.71 to 1.72 the following simple example now leads to a compilation error: #include <boost/asio/spawn.hpp> int main() { return 0; } The compilation errors point to a missing boost::begin and boost::end functions: /usr/local/include/boost/coroutine/asymmetric_coroutine.hpp:2364:10: error: no member named 'begin' in namespace 'boost'; did you mean simply 'begin'? { return boost::begin( c); } It goes on for a while, but I think the problem is clear. The source of this problem seems that between 1.71 and 1.72 in boost/coroutine/asymmetric_coroutine.hpp the include of boost/range.hpp was removed, which leads to these functions being undefined. To me it looks like a clear bug, but the fact that this include was removed points to some deliberate action. Am I missing something?

Hi, I'm triying to compile the boost 1.70 on Sun solaris using the version 12.3, but I got an annoying error on the test library: "./boost/test/unit_test_log_formatter.hpp", line 39: Error: Identifier expected instead of "__global". For what I can understand it seems that compiler doesn't recognize the keyword __global. The Boost formal review of Krystian Stasiowski and Vinnie Falco's FixedString library starts today November 25 and extends up to December 4. Description FixedString provides a dynamically resizable string of characters with compile-time fixed capacity and contiguous embedded storage in which the characters are placed within the string object itself. Its API closely resembles that of std::string. Hi all, It seems like the PDF documentation link on the download page is significantly outdated: https://www.boost.org/users/download/ In the link, the latest PDF documentation is 1.56.0. Is there any plan to update this? Thanks, Hong
