[Container] C++03 scoped_allocator_adaptor support

I am developing a project in Visual Studio 2010, which does not support variadic templates. (It does support rvalue references.) One aspect of my project could benefit greatly from scoped allocator support, so I checked out the 1.49 beta. While the implementation of allocator_traits supports C++03, the scoped_allocator_adaptor implementation requires variadic templates. Is there any plan to make the scoped_allocator_adaptor implementation support C++03? If not, what is the best way to use the new allocator_traits functionality to make sure that the allocator gets passed to contained containers? Thank you, Erik Jensen

Hey, is it possible to (optimally) triangulate a polygon with boost.geometry? Idea is to first merge (union) many polygons into less bigger ones and then triangulate resulting polygon for OpenGL rendering. Is that something boost.geometry would be useful for? Cheers, Simon

Could not link (link_program_options)

Hi guys, I'm trying to install Sandia's SST when I encountered this error while running the configuration script. checking for doxygen... no checking for mpicc... mpicc checking for MPI_Init... yes checking for mpi.h... yes checking for mpic++... mpic++ checking for mpi.h... yes checking how to run the C preprocessor... gcc -E checking build system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu checking host system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu checking for boostlib >= 1.41... yes checking whether the Boost::Program_Options library is available... yes configure: error: Could not link (link_program_options) against ! I installed my BOOST libraries via Ubuntu's Synaptic, and I have installed libboost-program-options-dev, libboost-program-options1.46.1 and libboost-program-options1.46-dev. Any ideas on how to fix the error? Any help would be appreciated. =)

reinterpret_cast boost integer

I've been experimenting with reinterpret_cast and boost integer. I've found that I can correctly cast uint16_t, uint32_t and uint64_t, however, when I try to do that with a uint8_t or int8_t (both one byte), it doesn't seem to work. Below is some sample code that demonstrates the issue. This is not really boost specific, it's probably just my misunderstanding/misuse of reinterpret_cast, but if anyone here could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Asio streambuf

Hiya, Does anyone know a way of reading from an asio::streambuf without removing the bytes? I'm using async_read() to get (possibly several) TCP messages, where each message is prefixed with a size field. If I can read the size without removing it from the buffer, I can check whether all the data was received and leave the size intact for the next handler if not. Any advice appreciated. Cheers, James

[program_options] Limited multitoken

Hello, I'm working on a personal project. Everything works using my own options processing function, but I am having a hard time implementing one specific aspect of my option processing code using the Boost program_options library. My program has a flag (-j) which takes in two doubles as arguments. Currently, I can invoke my program like so: ./foo -j 1.0 2.0 3 where 3 is treated like a positional. Because the -j option must consume several tokens, it seemed natural that I should use multitoken, like so: vector<double> v; po::options_description desc("Allowed options"); desc.add_options() ("jingle,j", po::value<vector<double> >(&v)->multitoken(), "Test thing"); But this causes positional arguments to get eaten up and added to v when -j is the last flag option. So, in my example, v would contain 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0. I suppose I am looking for some way to indicate that the -j flag consumes exactly two tokens. I've looked over the documentation on the Boost website, but I couldn't find anything about this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Brad
