Hi, It seems creating communicator with cartesian topology is not supported by boost mpi (that topology can be probed, though). One can only create such a topology with MPI_Cart_create and then pass the handle to the boost ctor. Is there a reason for that ? [smart_ptr] shared_count allocator

Hi All. I see in sources of the boost/smart_ptr library: shared_count object is allocated by shared_ptr via operator new. But I don't want allocate this object on a heap memory, but via my own allocator. Can I do that in boost trunk? I've been experimenting with reinterpret_cast and boost integer. I've found that I can correctly cast uint16_t, uint32_t and uint64_t, however, when I try to do that with a uint8_t or int8_t (both one byte), it doesn't seem to work. Hiya, Does anyone know a way of reading from an asio::streambuf without removing the bytes? I'm using async_read() to get (possibly several) TCP messages, where each message is prefixed with a size field. If I can read the size without removing it from the buffer, I can check whether all the data was received and leave the size intact for the next handler if not. Any advice appreciated. Cheers, James

Hello All, I have a Graph with 3 children (sub graphs). After I filter certain edges of the main graph, I can't access the children. Is there any turn around to work this. I want some edges to be filtered from the total graph, but still the filtered graph should retain its original children (with filtered edges ofcourse). Well it turns out despite not receiving any link errors I wasn't linking to libboost_thread.a as I thought I was. On Windows this seems to be handled by the auto link facility and I figured the same on linux. Which explains why when I explicitly link to the shared libboost_thread.so everything worked. However explicitly linking to the static libboost_thread.a resulted in a link error of relocation R_X86_64_32 ... recompile with -fPIC.
