cstdint.hpp on MSVC inconsitency ?

In cstdint.hpp, the logic is that , if sizeof(long) == 4 then int32_t = long elseif sizeof(int) == 4 then int32_t = int. However, boost::detail::int_least_helper assumes sizeof(long) > sizeof(int). The consequence is that int_t<32>::fast is not the same as int32_t on MSVC while MSVC always garantee that int == long. Is there any rationale we missed or should I try to fix that as it currently prevent nT2 from compiling on MSVC . Regards

I have a class that mostly remains the same except for the variables and functions to retrieve the variables. I've looked at boost preprocessor and it seems more designed to create classes that have a fixed number of variables but different defaults. Could any of the boost libraries turn the included class into boilerplate code that allows an arbitrary number of variables? The example below only has three variables but I could have used any number. Ryan //Minimal detail. How to disable the check or the error after checking for ICU (for regex lib) when building boost ?

Hello I get the following message when compiling boost from trunk: 1>Building the Boost C++ Libraries. 1>has_icu_test.cpp 1>libs\regex\build\has_icu_test.cpp(12) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'unicode/uversion.h': No such file or directory 1>Performing configuration checks 1> - has_icu builds : no Although the build succeeds (as this is a test) Visual Studio recognizes the error in the output and stops compiling the project and reports the build as failed. Is there a way for me to suppress this message ? Or this test ? Attempting to redirect output with &>outfile.txt do not work as the error messages still gets output in VS. boost interprocess library and concurrency

Hi, After reading through the BOOST interprocess library documentation I cannot workout whether - its STL set/hash/vector containers are multi-threaded safe. (Seeming, no, is the answer) - if a program cores in the middle of write operation to a STL container in shared memory then clearly the container is in an undefined state. Locks might be left locked (if this BOOST library uses locks say in a STL set or hash map insert/update). Now what? We just throw away the shared memory segment and start again? Has anybody solved these issues using CAS, transactions, or some other lock free solution? - aside from these issues, suppose one allocates a 2GB shared memory segment and all 2GB is used by a STL set. Does this BOOST interprocess library support adding more shared memory segments so this STL set can grow larger? Does doing so require relocating it which is a slow operation? What are the details here. I am looking for a crash recoverable, concurrent shared memory implementation of STL. Mainly I have a cache of items that will be read-intensive with some periodic updates and insertions throughout the day. Key-value pairs won't work; it must operate on pointers to C++ structs. Shane

[MSM] stack overflow happens when there is a false-guard anonymous transition

Hello, I'm using a map from basic_string to int on managed_mapped_file (boost 1.35.0). Everything works except that I get a compilation error if I use subscript operator. I have struct edge_properties { Traits::edge_descriptor ePredecessor; } some_function ( const Graph g ) { e = edge(vertex_a, vertex_b, g).first; //fails here g[e].ePredecessor = e; } compiler gives ./Includes/Utilities.cpp:451: error: passing ‘const boost::detail::edge_desc_impl<boost::bidirectional_tag, long unsigned int>’ as ‘this’ argument of ‘boost::detail::edge_desc_impl<boost::bidirectional_tag, long unsigned int>& boost::detail::edge_desc_impl<boost::bidirectional_tag, long unsigned int>::operator=(const boost::detail::edge_desc_impl<boost::bidirectional_tag, long unsigned int>&)’ discards qualifiers make: *** [pl] Error 1 My guess is that e is returned as a const but g[e].ePredecessor is declared a variable.
