I am running a Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop system which has GCC 4.4.3 installed (the default). [BGL] Using a default-constructed property map for storing temporary vertex properties

Hello all, I am currently working on a generic implementation of the Stoer–Wagner min-cut algorithm using BGL. Crucial to the algorithm is the merging of a vertex s into a vertex t after each phase, creating a new view of the input graph, the merged graph, denoted G/{s, t}. Rather than create a new graph that represents the merged graph, I figured that I could use a vertex property that would be the vertex that each vertex is assigned to at the start of each phase. One of the template parameters of my implementation is the property map type of the "assignment" property map. It is the last template parameter, as it's not as important to the algorithm as others, but I wanted the user to be able to provide the assignment property map type if s/he wanted, otherwise, the implementation would use a "default" property map type and default-constructed instance of the default assignment property map type. I tried `boost::associative_property_map<std::map<vertex_descriptor, vertex_descriptor> >`, which can be default-constructed, but the first time that I call `boost::get` or `boost::put` on the property map object, I get a SEGFAULT. Apparently, the default construction of `boost::associative_property_map<std::map<vertex_descriptor, vertex_descriptor> >` did not default-construct a `std::map<vertex_descriptor, vertex_descriptor>` object for use in storing the vertex property values. Is there some other property map type that I can use for this purpose? Daniel

Why is my Visual C++ Express giving me the following error message? LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libboost_date_time-vc90-mt-gd-1_41.lib' The boost documentation says that the date_time library is header-only. Why is it trying to find binaries? Andre.

[Boost.Assign] list_of::range without an initial (single) element?

What is the recommended way of initializing an array from a concatenation of other arrays? list_of::range looks right and I would like to use something like: array<int, 2> a = { 1, 2 }; array<int, 2> b = { 3, 4 }; array<int, 4> c = list_of<int>().range(a).range(b); However, list_of<int>() inserts a default value (so that list_of<int>().range(a).range(b) == {0,1,2,3,4}). There are several workarounds, e.g. array<int, 4> c = list_of<int>(a[0]) .range(a.begin()+1, a.end()) .range(b); array<int, 4> c = boost::assign_detail::generic_list<int>() .range(a) .range(b); The first is ugly; the second seems an abuse of assign_detail (and fails for static_generic_list). I am sure I am missing a simple solution, but can't seem to find it. Thanks, Michael.

[Serialization] Sometimes Fails Reading Binary File

Hi, I am using Boost 1.43.0, Linux 2.6.23, gcc version 4.0.0 on a Freescale PowerPC. I am reading in a serialized binary file using Ifstream ifs; try { Ifs.open(filename.c_str(), iso_base::binary | iso_base::in); If(fs.is_open()) { Boost::archive::binary_iarchive ia(ifs); ia >> data; ifs.close(); } } catch (std:exception &e) { Ifs.close(); } Sometimes it reads the file fine and sometimes it throws one of the following errors. invalid_signature, Basic_string::resize, or stream error. Does anyone have an idea why sometimes it works and sometimes it does not work? undefined reference to member function in AUTO_TEST_CASE

Dear all, I have a peculiar problem when compiling my unit tests. The reason why I find it peculiar is that I can compile the same code in a normal function just fine. Hi Everyone: I found a little strange when I want to use boost message queue in real project. Do you have answers for the following problems? Thank you very much. :) Does boost mq store the information into a file? If true, how can I find it? Does I need send message before I start to receive? Because I found if I start receiver first, even the sender begin to send later, the receiver still can not get the message? It still blocked. Do you know why? How does two program share the same mq? Using the same mq name? Does the mq name can contains a real path? How much data the mq can contains? How about its performance? I can not found the answer from the documentation of boost.
