[Test] Compiler error/missing entry point?

I installed the Boost.Test library binary using bootstrap.sh. Is the following a valid program? If not, what is wrong? Is there a missing entry point and, if so, how do I run the test? [Math] Bug in example code / doc (Binomial Distr.)

On p.66 (Binomial distribution, "Binomial Quiz Example") of the Math Toolkit pdf-file, and also at http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_40_0/libs/math/doc/sf_and_dist/html/math_to… it is written: "Probability of getting exactly 11 answers right by chance is 2.32831e-010" I think this is wrong. It rather should be one of these below: "Probability of getting exactly 11 answers right by chance is 0.000247132" or "Probability of getting exactly 16 answers right by chance is 2.32831e-010" I have'n checked the underlying source code of this yet; ie. maybe it is only a doc error... And this code there seems IMHO to be problematic too: " int questions = 16; // All the questions in the quiz. int answers = 4; // Possible answers to each question. double success_fraction = (double)answers / (double)questions; // If a random guess. // Caution: = answers / questions would be zero (because they are integers)! binomial quiz(questions, success_fraction); " Shouldn't the second param not simply be the constant p of each item, ie. here 0.25, even if # of questions is set to a different value, for example 32 ? Because 32 / 4, as done above, wouldn't be 0.25 anymore...

[program_options] simple test case fails

timeconv.inl

I am porting some inherited code to MSVS 2008 This is also bringing along an upgrade from boost 1.32 to a newer version (probably 1.37). I have found a thread wrapper class in the code that uses time_to directly. This is defined in lib/thread/src/timeconv.inl and doesn't look like its meant to be used directly. The original code base has timeconv.inl in the boost include directory. Was timeconv.inl moved at some point in the past? Is this as bad as I think it is? thanks dan

Status of Boost.Extension from sandbox?

I'm evaluating various plugin solutions for a project and am considering boost.extension as one of the alternatives. Looking at http://boost-extension.blogspot.com/ and the mailing list archives it appears that the project hasn't been active for a while. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to find a page detailing the current status of sandbox projects to determine whether or not it has been accepted for inclusion in future boost versions, has significant flaws preventing its inclusion, etc. I'm hesitant to choose a project that may be orphaned. Any guidance in finding such status updates, or outright answers to my questions, would be helpful. Thank you, -Rex

[ Boost.MPI ] : Spawning processes, Intercommunicators and send custom data-types ?

Greetings all, I use OpenMPI 1.3.3 and I tried to spawn child processes (using MPI_Comm_spawn) and send user-defined-datatypes across processes.The child processes should be ranked from 1-5 while the rank 0 is the manager processes (manager.cpp) . But I get rank 0 for manager process and the child processes also ranked starting from 0 (0-4) . Correct use of unordered_map

Consider this loop: const my_map_t::iterator end= my_map.end(); for (my_map_t::iterator it= my_map.begin(); it != end; ++it) { if (is_to_be_removed(it->first)) global_map.erase (it); } The documentation I've seen for unordered_map says that removing doesn't invalidate iterators except those referring to the element being deleted. But that's the case for it itself! Also, what does removing one element do to the ordering of the elements -- is there any guarantee that the iterator will visit exactly the ones that were not visited before? What is the correct, standards-conforming, way to perform this? Is this possible? I always get ambiguities when I try it. [serialization] loading a map having a const mapped value type
