[BGL-Python] __len__ and __iter__ for property maps

I'm trying to build BGL-Python from SVN. I managed to build it successfully on Windows (VC 8.0) but I'm having problems with gcc 3.4 on Linux; although it does compile, it doesn't expose in Python two property map methods, __len__ and __iter__. I think I narrowed it down to the non-selection of a template specialization: // boost/graph/python/property_map.hpp namespace boost { namespace graph { namespace python { namespace detail { / * skip other stuff */ template<typename Class, typename T, typename IndexMap> void property_map_extras(Class& pm, type<vector_property_map<T, IndexMap> >) { pm.def("__len__", &py_vector_property_map_length<T, IndexMap>); typedef typename std::vector<T>::iterator value_iterator; simple_python_iterator<value_iterator>::declare("ValueIterator"); pm.def("__iter__", &py_vector_property_map_values<T, IndexMap>); } template<typename Class, typename PropertyMap> inline void property_map_extras(Class&, type<PropertyMap>) { } } // end namespace detail */ So for __len__ and __iter__ to be included, the first overloading of property_map_extras must be called. That's what happens with VC 8.0 (in fact I can remove the second empty function and compiles just fine), but gcc selects the second one. Can anyone help and/or reproduce it ? Thanks, George

[1.34.0] Problem building with VS 7.1.

Hi all. When attempting to build Boost 1.34.0 on Windows XP SP2 (full updates applied) using MSVC 7.1 (both with and without SP1 applied) several of the libraries fail to build. They cause Visual Studio's compiler cl.exe to crash with a 'Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library' error message box stating: 'A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.'. bjam --toolset=intel on windows

Hello, I have the Intel 9 compiler for Windows $ which icl /cygdrive/c/Program Files/Intel/Compiler/C++/9.0/Ia32/Bin/icl and when I try to compile boost 1_34_0 with the command the shell stops more or less immediately at: compile-c-c++ bin.v2\libs\test\build\intel-win\debug\threading-multi\execution_monitor.obj and a window pops up saying Windows cannot open this file: execution_monitor.obj.rsp What do I wrong? andreas

This sample is wrong... PS: If you want to build boost 1.34 with Microsoft Visual C++ compiler 7.1 it is nesessary to build STLPort with native wchar_t type support (/Zc:wchar_t options). Converting loop to using boost::lambda where containers has boost::shared_ptrs

I have a loop which I am trying to convert to using a boost::lambda function. typedef std::vector< boost::shared_ptr<Verification_Type_Info> > Append_Data_t; Append_Data_t m_data; ... Used in .... boost::uint32_t new_indent_limit = 2; for ( Append_Data_t::const_iterator cpos = m_data.begin(); cpos != m_data.end(); ++cpos ) { output << (*cpos)->to_String ( new_indent_limit ); } Now I figure out that I can use the std::for_each algorithm for the iteration. I just need to supply the beginning and end forward iterators for m_data. What has me confused, since the lambda example page is not clear to me, is how do I call the member function 'to_String' for each Vertification_Type_Info object in the m_data container? My idea was to do: std::for_each ( m_data.begin(), m_data.end(), output << (_1 ->* &Verification_Type_Info::to_String) ( new_indent_limit ) ); This idea does not compile. I get errors about trying to send a boost::lambda::operator->* to std::stringstream variable 'output'. If a &_1 will give me the address of the object in the container at a position will *_1 dereference the pointer at that position? Stephen

Wrong member definitions in limits.hpp

I found that the current implementation of limits.hpp contains two errornous member definitions, which I reported in the bug-tracking facility, see http://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/ticket/972 I should add that I found this issue in the HEAD of the cvs repository. Since boost is moving to svn, I checked the current snapshot svn repository and did not find any boost/limits.hpp, *although* several files still depend on it, e.g. boost/bit_reference.hpp boost/bit_vector.hpp boost/circilar_buffer/base.hpp boost/dynamic_bitset.hpp boost/graph/ddnw_random_paths.hpp boost/graph/dijkstra_random_paths.hpp boost/indexed_set/seq_index_ops.hpp boost/integer_log2.hpp boost/io/iomanip_repeat.hpp boost/io/value_stream.hpp boost/linear_sort/property_map.hpp ....
