[Bind] arity of arbitrary object

Can anyone tell me how to determine the arity of an arbitrary bind object? I have a generic function that receives a bind object, but so far I've been unable to detect at compile time how many arguments it takes. Am I overlooking something obvious? Thanks a lot. Chris

adjaceny_list typedef scope

It would seem that I'm having a bit of trouble nailing down the scope of a typedef of the adjacency_list type in a class I'm writing. For some reason, I keep getting the error "error: 'directed_graph' does not name a type" when trying to compile the following code using XCode 2.4 with the boost library installed via DarwinPorts and the appropriate library and search paths (/opt/local/lib/ and /opt/local/ include/) set. If someone could help me out with this, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks for your time! I'm treating wchar_t as an intrinsic type. I tried changing that and didn't notice any difference in the number of warnings issued.

COM and boost::intrusive_ptr

Hi all, I would like to discuss some code I'm using to manage COM objects with intrusive_ptr. 1. I need to access the address of the raw pointer (to use QueryInterface). Therefore I implemented operator& for intrusive_ptr. Like in COM this pointer-pointer will only be used for intialization purposes. My implementation relies on the intrusive_ptr's memory layout and returns reinterpret_cast<T**>(addressof(ptr)). I know, this is evil... CComPtr-like usage: boost::intrusive_ptr<IVideo> video; someObject->QueryInterface(IID_IVideo,(void**)&video); Is there a better way? How do you bring intrusive_ptr and QueryInterface together? 2. My functions intrusive_ptr_add_ref and intrusive_ptr_release are specialized to handle IUnknown instances only. This way I avoid any conflicts with implementations of other reference counted objects. [fusion] construct a tuple's elements with arguments

If I have a typedef fusion::tuple<X, Y, Z> T; can I somehow create a T instance like T t(1, "hello"); and by that I mean that each of T's elements (of types X, Y and Z) would be constructed using the constructor that accepts an int and a string, assuming there is such a constructor for all T's elements. If there isn't such constructor for all T's elements, then it shouldn't compile, of course. Of course using the exact syntax above is not possible, because it's reserved for something else, but any other syntax would be just as good (perhaps using in_place_factory). Yuval

BGL edge properties

Hi, I didn’t find a way to define BGL adjacency_list without property pointer on edges. I suppose it’s a bug. I have been experimenting with the boost serialization library. It seems to do what I need. I am using Boost_1_33_1 and Microsoft’s VC8 compiler.
