I installed Boost 1.32 in Windows with Visual Studio .NET 2003. I tested serialization provided in "vc7ide" project, it runs successfully. Of course, all test projects are "Console", no MFC library involved. Then I used the same library in MFC project, the execution failed in function: BOOST_SERIALIZATION_NVP(s) >From MSDN, it was said that Boost is supported in Visual Studio .NET 2003. I labored a week to upgrade our MFC project to Visual Studio .NET 2003 and it still has problem. Any idea? Thanks in advance. Yan

Hello,I'm new to boost and regular expressions in general.I'm using sregex_iterator (and the example provided in the documentation as a base) to search for all occurrences of "G0" in a string like these "M51DTnM54G0G1G1G1G1G1G1G1G1G1G1G1G1G1G0G1M54M54G1G0G1G0M54M54G1M54".I tried to use for RE: "G0", "(G0)+" and "(G0)", but it only finds 1 occurrence for "G0" when I expected to find 4. I needed something to convert the difference between two xtime values to microseconds, so I looked at the to_microduration function in time_conv.inl and I guess that there is a bug there. The if should be: if (boost::xtime_cmp(xt, cur) <= 0) microseconds = 0; else ... In facts, the intent of the if condition seems to be avoiding negative return values, as for the to_duration function. Building boostbook from cvs fails lately.

I've been unable to build the boostbook documentation from the cvs sources for some time now. It used to work, but lately I get the errors below. The 'using docbook' paths in ~/user-config.jam are are correct, and were added using 'tools/boostbook/setup_boostbook.sh'. I tried 'rm ../bin.v2/doc/gcc-3.2/debug/catalog.xml' but it didn't help. All, I have a question which is not related directly to boost. I am writing a multithreaded application and would like to make use of a multiprocessor machine in order to speed up our Monte Carlo simulation engine. We make use of the random number package (random number distributions). My question is: making the random number generator a global variable (object) it is possible to use it in several threads at the same time -> does it mean that the random sequences will be repeated and the entire simulation will be simply a repetition of n non-random sequences? This can be avoided when a lock is acquired on the random number generator and at a given time just one thread can access the rng and the advantage of the multiprocessor machine is lost. Can you advise? Boost.Tribool: GCC4 and anonymous enums

GCC4 seems to be rather picky on anonymous enums, and some code seems to break in logic/tribool.hpp with the following error: boost/logic/tribool.hpp: In member function `boost::logic::tribool::operator void (boost::logic::tribool::dummy::*)()() const': boost/boost/logic/tribool.hpp:114: error: `boost::logic::tribool::<anonymous enum>' is/uses anonymous type boost/boost/logic/tribool.hpp:114: error: trying to instantiate `template<class T> struct boost::is_integral' boost/boost/logic/tribool.hpp:114: error: `boost::logic::tribool::<anonymous enum>' is/uses anonymous type boost/boost/logic/tribool.hpp:114: error: trying to instantiate `template<class T> struct boost::is_integral' Same error is repeated at lines 128, 161, and 162 (CVS HEAD). Workaround/patch is obvious (making the enum named), but I haven't managed to create a minimal test-case for the behaviour (the triggering code is rather large and there doesn't seem to be any logic in what actually triggers the error).
