Random numbers: problem with uniform_real random distribution

Hi Folks, I'm getting some very odd results out of the random uniform_real distribution. The distribution uniform_real<> rdouble (-1, 3); returns a sequence of number that looks like 1.28327e+10 2.34686e+09 1.29337e+10 1.25118e+10 1.54783e+10 1.13449e+10 which certainly doesn't meet the requirement of returning values in [-1,3)! Boost.mpl suggestion: variation of find_if

Hi, I could not come with usable name for such thing but it could be usable anyway. So it is like find_if but applies a function to an sequence and return first non void type that function returned. So implementation would be trivial: template< typename Sequence, typename Func > struct find_type : fold< Sequence, void_, if_< is_void_< _1 >, Func< _2 >, _1 > {}; If it can be implemented by current set of algorithms please point me out. Hi boost New to C++ and boost so please bear with me. I have downloaded the boost library (1.3.2) from sf.net on to a Windows XP platform running Visual Studio .NET. I've started a C++ project however when I compile it, having added the regex class, I get the following error: fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libboost_regex-vc71-sgd-1_32.lib' I have include the lib path for boost and that worked OK with the other libraries but not this one. Any one got any ideas? The readmes do say, but briefly, get bjam from the boost sourceforge site, and run it in the boost root directory. This probably means that you haven't compiled the library corresponding to your current setup. Hi Ron, I finally got it work by using static_cast. But I ran into another problem as you pointed out early that you have to define dimension before you use assignment and copy constructor. That makes the whole thing quit complicated. Any suggestion? Thanks. Reference information for mpl::for_each ?

(1) Where can I find reference information for mpl::for_each (I've looked around on the boost website and can't seem to find it). (2) Here's what I'm trying to do: I've got an mpl::vector. Given some type T, I want to loop across the vector and see if T is convertible to any of the types in the vector. I tried something like 'for_each<typelist, is_convertible<T, _1> >()' but my syntax is definitely wrong. Any ideas?
