problems w/ boost::regex

i'm having some problems in trying to use boost::regex with msvc6 , sp 5 (using boost 1.28.0) jam generates some *.lib's & some *.dll's but when i try to compile code that trys to use regex (such as the examples ) , i get linker errors of the form ==> LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "boost_regex_vc6_mssd.lib" Error executing link.exe. at first i was confused about this as i could not find any files with such a name .. after some grepping i found some explanations on the lib files that the regex headers use to figure out what lib to include (in boost\regex\detail\regex_library_include.hpp which is rather a neat way of doing things, but jam doesn't appear to follow that methodology .. so i'm stuck since the naming convenctions don't match, and i'm not sure what files jam is generating (in fact i'm not even sure that jam is generating the static runtime, static link versions of boost that the above error is requesting me to find .. --vat __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? most recent thread_pool implementation?

I've recently started using Boost and am working with 1.28.0 (modified to include the latest Boost.Signals from the CVS repository). I just obtained David Moore's thread_pool implementation from http://groups.yahoo.com/group/boost/files/thread_pool.zip and tweaked it slightly in order to build it with gcc 2.95.3 (no <limits>). I since noticed some more recent thread_pool source on CVS under boost/boost/libs/thread/src/Attic (bill_kempf). What is the purpose of the Attic subdirs? - unofficial work-in-progress type stuff or would I be better off using these versions of thread_pool? Also, is thread_pool likely to be included in the next official Boost release? Any idea when this might be? Finally, is a boost::xtime replacement likely to appear in the next release? REGEX Borland C++ 4.0 MAKE problem

lambda file format

Hi I have been trying to see what can be done with the lambda library but I'm wondering why is it that its file use hex 0D 0D 0A as end-of-line instead of the dos 0D 0A or linux 0A? Is that some other standard text format? and why is it that most other boost libs don't use that format? Thanks...

Compiling Boost.threads on SGI

HI ! We have a problem compiling Boost.threads v. 1.28 on SGI. Regex recommended usage?

Hi, I have a container (map) with identifiers and value and would like to replace variables in a string. The function to perform the replacement I wrote needs a const_cast, which makes me a bit nervous. Is this necessary? Is there a better way to implement it? RegEx++ and Visual Studio .NET STL Problems

When I upgraded to Visual Studio .NET my programs that use regex++ stopped working. Many simple calls fail during string destruction with bad heap pointers. I never had any problems under msvc version 6. Has anyone else experienced this? Is a problem with the new MS STL?
