The boost release 1.28.0 of the tokenizer library has the following problem: There are 5 examples, namely, simple_example_1.cpp thru simple_example_5.cpp If I change the main() in each of the 5 to to main1() thru main5() and return 0; the vc60 compiler generates an internal compiler error when parsing the file boost\iterator_adapters.hpp on line 869, where it is parsing the following lines: reference operator*() const { return policies().dereference(*this); }

Hello. I a newbie in BGL and I rewrite my LEDA code now... I have to sort (order) edges according to some functor. [BGL] Problem with kevin-bacon sample

Hi all, I compiled the kevin-bacon sample on a linux box without any problem, but when I try to run the program, I obtain an error output instead of what is expected. Any help would be appreciated. regex performance

I'm doing some performance comparisons between Rogue Wave's Regexp class (http://www.roguewave.com/support/docs/tlsref/rwcregexp.cfm) and boost::regex using simple expressions like "^metal.*" and "[0-9]+" with regex_search(). regex is slower by a factor of 6, measuring cpu time (on a SunBlade 100 runing Solaris 8). Is there anything I can do to speed it up? I tried using different values of boost::regbase::flag_type_ to adjust how the regular expressions are interpreted, but with little effect. Any other ideas? RegEx++ and Visual Studio .NET STL Problems

When I upgraded to Visual Studio .NET my programs that use regex++ stopped working. Many simple calls fail during string destruction with bad heap pointers. I never had any problems under msvc version 6. Has anyone else experienced this? Is a problem with the new MS STL?

Building on AIX?

Am new to boost, trying to build on AIX. regex with double byte character sets

Hi all, I am currently trying to use the boost regex library with Japanese language strings. It appears like DBCS is not supported. For example, using the following code (with compile definition of BOOST_REGEX_USE_C_LOCALE) I get the output strings as 0 = "。" 1 = "English" Instead of the expected: 0 = "やゆよわをー。" 1 = "English" This is due to the fact that the Japanese (SJIS encoding) for one of these characters uses the [ character as one of the characters in the encoding. setlocale( LC_COLLATE, "Japanese" ); setlocale( LC_CTYPE, "Japanese" ); char * pszText = "やゆよわをー。 [english]", char * pszRule ="([^\\[]*)\\[([[:word:]]*)\\]"; // split the string into it's components std::vector<std::string> vPart; boost::regex eParseExpr( pszRule, boost::regbase::normal | boost::regbase::icase ); boost::regex_split( std::back_inserter(vPart), std::string(pszText), eParseExpr ); Is there some what to modify the library to enable DBCS? For example, can the char_traits be modified to enable DBCS processing? (Keeping in mind that the biggest problem with DBCS is that a single character may consist of 2 bytes which tends to blow out all assumptions about the size of characters). Brodie.

This looks like a similar problem I had. I'm also using C++ Builder 5 with patch 1. I was using regex from Boost 1.25.0 but when I upgraded to 1.28.0 I got run-time errors (specifically bad_alloc). I had no problems compiling and running the test and example programs. I was successfully able to run all of the Regex examples except 'partial match' under boost 1.27 using Borland BCB5 patch 1. My procedure for building Regex for both versions 1.27 and 1.28 was to run Make.exe -fbcb5.mak install clean The dlls and libs are then correctly placed in the Builder 5 root directory, and the examples build OK. However, whereas they ran successfully for Boost 1.27, they do not run under Boost 1.28. I also tried BJam, but the problem remains. Win2k / NT Spell Check Wrapper

Hi all, My first time posting or visiting here. I'm trying to find out if anyone has ever worked with the spell checker .dll and .dic files that come with Win 2k / NT. I'm desiring to wrap / call this via VB or Lotus Script for a web application. I'm a newbie c++ programmer, but I'm learning fairly quickly. boost::bind for member functions

Hi, I'd like to be able to bind an object to to a member function argument, like the example below. NB: if I make not_ok()'s first argument an int and pass an int variable to bind, gcc will buy it. I've tried this every way that makes any sense to me and I have not been able to get it to work. I'm using gcc 2.95.3. Regex problems with HP aCC

I am trying to build the Regex library for hp_ux 11.0 using aCC version 3.33. I have tried both the current CVS version and version 1.28 of Boost. With either one, I get the same errors. Below is the full text of my error message. I have been able to build successfully on many other platforms. I found a message in the archives, accessible at http://lists.boost.org/MailArchives/boost/msg29179.php, where another user has experienced a similar problem. Has anyone solved this problem, or could any offer a possible fix? Is anyone using Regex on HP_UX? If so, any tips on configuration, etc, would be greatly appreciated. I am stumped by this one. Hi As you can see in the subject this is a newbie problem. I tried the example code "Simple usage of boost::thread" (http://www.boost.org/libs/thread/doc/thread.html) with MSVC 6.0 and ended up with an error message: R6016 - not enough space for thread data Are there any settings that must be set before this code will work? [BGL] Newbie problems with property_map interface

Hi, I'm just starting to learn how to use BGL, and have a few questions. Help would be much appreciated. I'm currently trying to understand the add_vertex function where properties can be assigned to the vertices as the graph is constructed. The only info I've managed to find on the website is this: --------- vertex_descriptor add_vertex(const VertexProperties& p, adjacency_list& g) Adds a vertex to the graph with the specified properties. Returns the vertex descriptor for the new vertex. --------- Does anybody have any examples on how to use this? More specifically, consider the following. I want to construct a graph dynamically, i.e. the graph will grow and shrink during runtime. Let's say I have a Node class with one member (which I want to represent as an "internal property") as follows: class Node { public: std::string name; }; And an Edge class, again with internal properties: class Edge { public: int weight1; double weight2; }; Then my graph object would look something like this, right? typedef adjacency_list < vecS, vecS, directedS, property < vertex_name_t, std::string >, property <edge_weight_t, int, property <edge_weight2_t, double> > > Graph; Where do I go from here? That is, if I have a Node or Edge object in my hand, with members as specified above, how do I add it to the structure (provided that additional info is available regarding which Nodes to connect with the Edge)? I would be very grateful for any help on this. Also, pointers to good (online) tutorials and documented examples of using the BGL, aside from the ones on boost.org, would be appreciated. VC7 + STLPort (and other assorted questions)

Is there any way to force boost to build using VC7 and STLPort? I tried the obvious (settings TOOLS=msvc-stlport, and setting MSVC_DIR=<path to VC7>), but I got a ton of compiler errors that way. I ask because VC6 + STLPort 4.5.3 has some serious issues with the the VC6 compiler, causing internal compiler errors (very bad :P). Also, I keep hearing mention of a way to build the boost libs from inside the VC IDE (and the ability to build them for static linking), but I can't find project files, or a Jam option to build static. What am I missing? This is all Boost 1.28.0. Matt Holmes

What follow is the descriptions of a possible bug. Unfortunately I'm using MSVC++ and ran into some unexpected behavior using boost::regex_format and a stringbuf. I compiled 1.27.0 without the /Oa flag as suggested in the installation notes. In summary, this works: stringbuf line; ... string tmp = line.str(); if (regex_match(tmp, matchInfo, linerx)) { string name = regex_format(matchInfo, "$1"); } but this doesn't: stringbuf line; ... if (regex_match(line.str(), matchInfo, linerx)) { string name = regex_format(matchInfo, "$1"); } By "doesn't work" I mean that 'name' has spurious characteres. If this might be a bug, let me know and I'll track it down to a small, compilable example.
